Toledo, Ohio — The Toledo baseball team hosts Mid-American Conference foe Central Michigan this weekend at Scott Park.

Last Time Out
Toledo won both of its midweek games, defeating Oakland 19-8 before visiting Purdue Fort Wayne and returning with an 11-7 win.
Against Oakland, the Rockets jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after a productive bottom of the first inning, then blew the game wide open with a nine-run third inning. Toledo scored six more runs from that point on in the big win over the Golden Grizzlies. Eight of the nine starters recorded multiple hits, eight scored multiple runs, eight drove in at least one run, and five tallied extra-base hits.
The game against the Mastadons was a back-and-forth affair that saw five lead changes. One day after their explosive 19-run game against Oakland, the Rockets launched a season-high four home runs against Purdue Fort Wayne.

- Toledo has now won three straight games and has scored at least 10 runs in each contest.
- Riley Campbell has been hit by a pitch a MAC-high 13 times. The Rockets as a team have been hit 52 times, second-most in the MAC.
- Austin Calopietro leads Toledo with 15 pitching appearances this season. Over his last eight outings, he has thrown 12.1 innings while striking out 14 and sporting a 0.73 ERA.

Scouting the Competition
Central Michigan enters the weekend with a record of 26-10 and an 8-4 mark in conference play, third-best in the MAC. The Chippewas lead the league in runs scored (306) and are second in batting average (.299), on-base percentage (.419), and slugging percentage (.428). CMU's pitchers have shown the best control in the league, having walked a MAC-low 130 batters. Several Central Michigan hitters lead the MAC in various categories, including Griffin Lockwood-Powell in home runs (seven) and RBIs (48); Jacob Crum in slugging percentage (.639), and Zavier Warren in runs scored (43) and on-base percentage (.503). Saturday's starter Cam Brown is second in the MAC in innings pitched (55.0) and leads the conference with six wins.
