Charlie Scholvin Named D1Baseball Top 50 Shortstop

TOLEDO, Ohio – Junior shortstop Charlie Scholvin was named the No. 41 shortstop in the country among D1Baseball's top 50 shortstops in the outlet's preseason player rankings announced on Tuesday.
At the plate, Scholvin slashed .305/.465/.476 last season in 51 games, collecting 50 hits, five home runs, 31 RBIs and 44 runs. Scholvin also tied for the national lead with 34 hit by pitches and walked 17 times. He was also in the top 100 toughest players to strike out in Division I, striking out just 17 times in 164 at-bats.
Scholvin totaled 14 multi-hit games, six multi-RBI games and had Toledo's longest reached-base streak of 2025, reaching in as many as 23 consecutive games.
For his career, Scholvin has hit .285 with a .446 on-base percentage, including seven home runs, 48 RBIs, 15 doubles and 69 runs scored in 87 games played.
In the field, Scholvin totaled 127 assists with 61 putouts on a .959 fielding percentage in 2025. He has a .969 career fielding percentage.
Scholvin was the only player in the Mid-American Conference named to the top 50 shortstop list.
Toledo opens the 2026 season at Memphis on Friday, Feb. 13. The Rockets will begin Mid-American Conference play on Friday, March 6 at home against UMass.
