KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Freshman
Bailey Curry tied Toledo's single-season home run record, and the Rockets defeated Western Michigan by scores of 3-0 and 8-3 on Saturday at Ebert Field. Toledo (30-15, 14-3 MAC) now has won each of its six Mid-American Conference series after falling in 14 innings in Friday's series opener. The two victories also lifted UT to the 30-win mark for the first time since 1995.
"Thirty wins was one of our goals at the start of the season," said Toledo head coach
Kristen Butler. "It's great when our team sees their hard work paying off by being able to hit that milestone. We still have two more goals for the season and those are 15 conference wins and to win the MAC Tournament. It's exciting for our seniors because they have laid the ground work for what this program will be for years to come."
