TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo baseball team plays host to Mid-American Conference West Division leading Central Michigan for a vital three-game conference series at Scott Park starting on Friday.
The Rockets (14-34, 7-11 MAC) currently sit one game out of the postseason MAC Tournament standings. Buffalo, Bowling Green and Western Michigan are in a three-way tie at 8-10 for the last three qualifying spots.
Toledo will look to break an 11-game losing streak and a six-game conference skid. The Rockets last double digit losing streak was a 10-game slid in the opening month of the 2003 season.
Central Michigan (26-22, 13-5 MAC) is one of three teams to have already punched its ticket to the MAC Tournament in Avon, Ohio. The Chippewas join Kent State and Ball State as team that have clinched.
CMU has won five of its six conference series, including three-game sweeps over Miami and Ohio to start the season. The Chippewas are coming off of an impressive 4-3 win over Michigan in their last non-conference game on Wednesday.
Toledo has fallen in its last three season series to Central Michigan and trails 18-12 in the series in the last decade.
The Rockets will visit Ohio State for their final non-conference game on Wednesday before closing the regular season with a MAC series at Eastern Michigan.
