Non-Conference Schedule Takes Toledo to Dayton on Wednesday

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Rockets non-conference schedule takes them to the University of Dayton for a single game against the Flyers on Wednesday, April 19 at 4:00 p.m. at Woerner Field.
Toledo (13-23) has won five of its last six, including a three-game sweep over Mid-American Conference East Division opponent Buffalo this past weekend. On Saturday, the Rockets knocked out 22 hits to score 21 runs in a 21-20 win over the Bulls. A week earlier, UT used 23 hits to plate 20 runs in a 16-run win over I-75 rival Bowling Green.
Statistically, junior Dalton Bollinger leads the UT offense with a .319 average, 46 hits and 14 doubles. Bollinger is currently on a 10-game hitting streak. Junior AJ Montoya sports a .277 average with a team best six home runs and 32 RBIs.
Dayton (11-24) lost 11 of its last 12 games before snapping a seven-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over Eastern Kentucky in its last contest. The Flyers are 1-8 in the Atlantic 10, including three-game sweeps at the hands of St. Bonaventure and George Mason.
Brandon Smith leads the Flyers hitting .287 with seven home runs and 18 RBIs.
The Rockets beat Dayton in eight-straight games from 2010-2014, but have lost the four meetings over the previous two years.Â
Toledo's road trip continues with a three-game MAC series at Kent State starting on Friday, April 21.
