Toledo Sits Tied for Sixth Place Following 36 Holes at Hoosier Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, IN – Toledo sits tied for sixth place with a team score of nine-over par 577 (291-286) following the opening 36 holes at the Hoosier Invitational on Saturday at the Indiana University Golf Course (Par-71, 6,813 Yards).
Junior co-captain Colin Joseph (74-70) and freshman Joe Bryce (73-71) are leading the Rockets at two-over par 144 and sit tied for 22nd place among 78 individuals.
Junior co-captain Stephen Watts is one stroke behind Joseph and Bryce and tied for 30th spot at three-over par 145 (73-72), while freshman Thomas Thurloway is two strokes back and tied for 37th place at four-over par 146 (71-75).
Rounding out UT's lineup is sophomore Spencer Shoemaker who is tied for 53rd spot at seven-over par 149 (76-73).
Charlotte leads the 14-team field with an impressive mark of 12-under par 556 (278-278) and holds a seven-stroke advantage over second-place Bradley at five-under par 563 (286-277). The 49ers have three individuals in the Top 6 and are one of three squads to shoot under par over the first 36 holes.
Individually, Valparaiso's Peter Webb is the leader in the clubhouse at nine-under par 133 (65-68) and maintains a five-shot cushion over Charlotte's Seth Gandy at four-under par 138 (71-67).
The two-day tourney will conclude with 18 holes on Sunday. Play will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a shotgun start. The Rockets will be paired with host Indiana and Illinois State for the final round.
