GREENVILLE, SC – Toledo was bested by Sacred Heart, 3-0, before falling to co-host Furman, 1-0, in a pitchers' duel on the first day of the Buffalo Wild Wings Classic in Greenville, SC. With the defeats, the Rockets fall to 2-10 on the season.

"Our pitchers did very well today," said Head Coach
Kristen Butler. "Heather and Kailey performed very well and gave us great outings. We need to focus on executing when we have runners on base."

Megan Choate (1-for-3) each picked up a hit for the Rockets.

SHU scored two off an RBI double to left field in the second inning. The Pioneers plated another run on a double in the third frame.

Heather Webb (1-2) was tagged with the loss after throwing 6.0 innings and allowing three earned runs to cross the plate. The sophomore fanned six batters and stranded five runners in the contest.

The Paladins scored their lone run off of a Toledo error in the third frame. Furman singled to the pitcher, which allowed the runner on third to cross the plate.

Sophomore
Kailey Minarchick (1-3) took the loss after pitching her first complete game of the season and allowing four hits. Minarchick struck out four batters and only walked one.

The Rockets will travel up to Spartanburg, SC for the second half of the Buffalo Wild Wings Classic. UT will take on Western Carolina at 11:00 a.m. before facing co-host USC-Upstate at 1:00 p.m.
