Rockets Drop Regular Season Finale at Ball State

Muncie, IN – Toledo dropped its regular-season finale to Ball State, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon. The Rockets conclude their season with a 9-12 overall record and 3-5 record in the conference. With the defeat, the Cardinals finish their season with a 7-1 conference record to win the Mid-American Conference regular season title.

UT will face an undetermined opponent in the 2016 MAC Tournament on April 29-May 1 in Oxford, OH.

"We competed well in singles but just didn't have enough in us today to pull away with the victory," said head coach Tracy Mauntler. "Ball State is a feisty team and they played us with a lot of confidence. We are looking forward to laying it all out there next weekend at the MAC tournament."

Ball State collected the doubles point after winning two of the three matches.

Freshman Claire Aleck notched the only Toledo victory on the day. Aleck bested Isabelle Dohanics in a battle at fifth singles, 7-5, 3-6, 10-6.
