Rockets to Finish Regular Season at Ball State

TOLEDO, OH – Toledo women's tennis (9-11, 3-4 MAC) travels to Muncie, IN on Saturday for its last match of the season against Ball State (19-3, 6-1 MAC). UT will battle the Cardinals in a 1:00 p.m. match.

Toledo defeated the Cardinals last season, 4-3, and it looks to hand Ball State its second conference loss of the season.

The Rockets are coming off of a 4-3 victory over Eastern Michigan. The lead went back-and-forth until senior Emily Mazzola tied the match 3-3 after besting Ani Gogvadze in a three-set battle at third singles. Mazzola won the first set, 6-2, but dropped the second, 6-7. The senior came from behind after saving three match points to go on and win the third set, 7-5.

Senior Lauren Thai then clinched the Rocket victory by downing Renu Sharma at No. 6 singles, 7-6, 2-6, 6-3.
