Ann Arbor, MI – Toledo was edged in a close contest with No. 18 Michigan (26-9), 2-1, at Ray Fisher Stadium. No runs were scored until the sixth inning, and Michigan gained the lead in the eighth inning. With the loss, the Rockets fall to 8-29-1.

"I was proud of the way our guys bounced back after the loss yesterday," head coach
Cory Mee said. "We created some opportunities, which is a good sign, but now we need to come back and get that clutch hit. We played a clean game against a top-25 opponent."

Freshman RHP
Parker Ruffer tossed a career-high 4.0 innings in his second start of his career. Ruffer struck out one batter and scattered three hits during the outing. Sophomore LHP
Alex Wagner was tagged with the loss after throwing 3.1 frames and allowing two earned runs to cross the plate while fanning four batters. Freshman LHP
Michael Jacob also threw in relief, and did not allow a runner to reach base in 0.2 inning.

"We got really good pitching performances from Parker and Alex," Mee said. "Their outings gave us a chance to win the game."

John Martillotta also picked up one hit in the game. Krupar led the game off with a double.

After five quiet innings, Toledo grabbed the lead in the sixth when Michigan committed an error trying to turn two. The error on the throw to first allowed Tansel to score from third.

Michigan tied the game in seventh with a sacrifice fly from Matt Ramsey to score Ako Thomas. Thomas reached base with a lead-off triple.

UM gained the lead in the bottom of the eighth when Harrison Wensen hit a solo home run over the left field wall to give the Wolverines a 2-1 lead.
