Columbus, OH – Toledo was edged by Ohio State, 9-8, at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium on Wednesday, March 30. UT used a three-run inning in the ninth to take the lead, but OSU hit a walk-off double to win. With the loss, the Rockets fall to 4-21-1 and 0-2-1 against the Buckeyes this season.

Toledo opened the game with a bang as Montoya hit a two-run home run to give UT a 2-0 lead. Callahan ripped a double to right center field to extend the lead to three and Boss would bring him home for a 4-0 UT advantage.

Nick Sergakis answered back in the bottom-half of the frame for Ohio State with a two-RBI double to left center to cut the UT lead. Jalen Washington brought home Sergakis on a sacrifice fly to make the game 4-3.

Bollinger ripped a RBI double in the second to left-center field to score senior SS
Deion Tansel to extend the UT advantage to 5-3. Tansel swiped second to get into scoring position.

OSU matched Toledo with a run of its own as Zach Nennig ripped a solo home run over the left field fence and brought the lead back to 5-4.

The Buckeyes grabbed a 6-5 lead in the fifth when Jacob Bosiokovic and Nick Sergakis both hit solo home runs.Â

OSU scored a run in the eighth with a sacrifice fly from Ronnie Dawson to score Troy Montgomery to give the Buckeyes an 7-5 lead.

Toledo fought back in the ninth when Bollinger doubled down the right field line to score Tansel and freshman RF
Ross Adolph. UT took the lead, 8-7, on a single to center field from senior P/CF
John Martillotta to score Bollinger on a bang-bang play at home.

Ohio State won the game, 9-8, on a two-RBI walk-off double from Troy Montgomery in the bottom of the ninth.

Toledo will be back in action on Friday, April 1 to begin a three-game series with Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green at 3:05 p.m.
