TOLEDO, OH – The Rockets (7-10-1, 2-7-1 MAC) will conclude their season with a trip south for a match against arch-rival Bowling Green on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 3:00 p.m. at Cochrane Field.
Senior forward Kiersten Johnson is coming off of a career-best performance last weekend against Western Michigan in which she tallied two goals. It was the third time in her career that she has accomplished this feat. Johnson leads the team with 10 goals and 21 points as her collegiate career draws to a close.
Junior defender Chiara Paradiso also played a big part of the offense last weekend, as she collected an assist and her second goal of the season. Fellow junior Isa Echeverri also contributed in the previous match with an assist, while sophomore goalkeeper Katie Wilson will look to continue to defend the net as she currently ranks third in the Mid-American Conference in saves with 74.
Bowling Green (8-9-1, 3-6-1 MAC) enters the contest having won only two of its last 10 matches. They are currently ranked fourth in the MAC East and Thursday will be the final home match for their seniors.
Sophomore Erica Hubert leads the team in points and goals with 15 and seven, respectively. Freshman goalkeeper Kathleen Duwve has logged 66 saves on the year.
Over the past 10 seasons, Toledo is 10-2-1 against Bowling Green, including wins in each of the last seven matches.
The Rockets will miss the MAC Tournament for the first time since 2013 and for only the second time since 2004.
