TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's soccer team made a push to come from behind in the second half, but could not secure a tying goal in a 1-0 defeat to Ball State at Paul Hotmer Field on Sunday.

The Rockets (5-5-5, 1-3-4 MAC – 7 PTS) had all seven of their shots in the second half, with four on target, but a 28th-minute goal by the Cardinals (6-5-4, 3-2-3 MAC – 12 PTS) stood as the winner.

Ball State had the overall edge in shots, 8-7, with shots on goal favoring Toledo, 4-3. Corner kicks were even, 2-2. McKenna Schultz and Amya Usher led Toledo with two shots each.

Quoting Head Coach Mark Batman
"Saw some really good things from our young kids today. I thought we were much better, much more composed in the second half than the first half. Lots to play for still. If we find a way to win the next three, we're in the conversation still for the MAC Tournament."
