TOLEDO, OH - Toledo (9-9, 4-3 MAC) returns to the friendly confines of Savage Arena on Saturday, Jan. 30 to tangle with arch-rival Bowling Green (8-9, 4-4 MAC). Tip-off time is set for 2:00 p.m. in Savage Arena and can be seen on ESPN3.
UT has been outstanding at home over the last seven-plus seasons under head coach
Tricia Cullop, compiling a stout 97-25 (.795) ledger. Toledo has been even more dominant against MAC opponents on its home court, winning 53 of 63 contests (.841). The Rockets enter Saturday's contest in the midst of a five-game winning streak in Savage Arena, outscoring their opposition by 12.0 ppg (71.8-59.8).
The Rockets will also host their inaugural National Girls and Women in Sports Day in conjunction with Saturday's Mid-American Conference cross-division match-up against the Falcons. National Girls and Women in Sports Day is a day to honor the accomplishments and hard work of female athletes in the classroom, in their sports and in the community. The day will recognize how sports have helped advance the lives of women and girls by helping them reach their goals and be successful in sports and in life.
UT enters Saturday's contest riding a two-game losing streak and sits in third place in the MAC West Division. Toledo is looking to bounce back from last Saturday's 59-41 setback at Eastern Michigan.
Toledo was held to 31.6 percent (18-of-57) from the field, including 13.0 percent (3-of-23) from three-point range, to suffer its third loss in the last four meetings against the Eagles. The Rockets were also victimized by a season-high tying 23 turnovers, which EMU translated into 25 points. Â Â

UT will square off against a red-hot BGSU team which has won its last three contests. Most recently, the Falcons secured a 67-63 home victory against Eastern Michigan on Wednesday. Bowling Green knocked down an impressive 11 triples vs. the Eagles, including a game-high four each from Rachel Myers and Sydney Lambert. Myers paced the Orange & Brown with a contest-best 18 points, followed closely by Lauren Tibbs and Lambert with 14 each.
Bowling Green, which is 3-5 away from home this season, features three players scoring at least 8.0 ppg and is led by Tibbs and Lambert at 11.2 and 10.2 ppg, respectively.
UT and BGSU will square off for the first of two meetings this year and 74th time overall. Â
The Falcons holds a 42-31 advantage in the all-time series, but the Rockets have won four of the last five meetings against its arch-rival.Â
A season ago, Toledo claimed a 64-48 road triumph in the Stroh Center (Jan. 31).
UT also maintains a 17-14 (.548) edge in contests played in Savage Arena and has won two of the last three meetings against Bowling Green at home.Â
Following Saturday's contest, the Rockets will travel to MAC West Division rival Western Michigan (12-8, 4-4 MAC) on Wednesday, Feb. 3. The opening tip versus the Broncos is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in University Arena and can be seen on ESPN3.
UT and WMU will meet for the second of two match-ups during the 2016 MAC campaign and the 74th time overall.
The Rockets will aim to sweep the season series against the Broncos for the sixth time in the last eight seasons. UT claimed an 80-73 victory over its division rival in Savage Arena on Jan. 9.
Toledo leads the all-time series against Western Michigan, 52-21, winning 17 of the last 21 meetings since the 2005-06 campaign.
