Rockets Fall in Game Two to Set Up Rubber Match on Sunday vs. Bobcats

Ohio tallies 12 hits in 7-4 victory over the Rockets on Saturday evening in Athens. OH
ATHENS, OH - The Rockets fell in Game Two at Ohio on Saturday night by the final score of 7-4. Toledo and the Bobcats will play a decisive Game Three on Sunday afternoon with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 p.m.Â
Sophomore Steven Calhoun was tagged with the loss as the sophomore from Tipp City, OH gave up five runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings on the mound. Senior Andrew Marra and junior Ross Achter each gave up a run in relief for Calhoun.Â
Freshman Dalton Bollinger led the way for the Rockets at the dish with a pair of hits and an RBI. Fellow newcomer A.J. Montoya also tallied a pair of hits against the Bobcats. Junior Deion Tansel also tallied a pair of pair of RBI with a scarifice bunt in the first inning and was hit by a pitch in the top of the fourth.
Toledo jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning but it was all Bobcats after that. Ohio scored at least one run in the first four innings, including a pair of homers in the second and third inning.Â
Toledo falls to 19-28 on the year and 11-9 in Mid-American Conference play.Â
