NOBLESVILLE, IN - Senior Chris Selfridge is tied for 18th place following the first round of the 2015 NCAA Noblesville Regional on Thursday at the par-72, 7,173-yard Sagamore Club.
Selfridge closed play with a round of one-over par 73, posting four birdies, three bogeys and one double-bogey on the day. The 2014-15 Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Year carded birdies on the par-4 9th hole (422 yards), par-4 12th (371 yards), par-4 13th (420 yards) and par-5 18th (554) on the day, respectively. A total of 17 players posted rounds of even par or better.
SMU's Benjamin Baxter and Colorado's duo of David Oraee and Jeremy Paul hold the opening-round lead after 18 holes, posting scores of four-under par 68.
Selfridge is one of 75 players, including 14 teams and five individuals, taking part in the event, which is scheduled for three rounds. The second round will begin on Friday with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m. off holes 1 and 10.
The top five teams and the top individual not associated with one of those teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships, which is slated for May 29-June 3 at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, FL.
