
Rockets Shut Out By MAC East Leaders Kent State

Toledo lost 2-0 to the Golden Flashes on Saturday at Scott Park.
TOLEDO, OH - The Toledo softball team could not manage to get its offense rolling, as it was shut out by Kent State, 2-0, on a chilly Saturday afternoon at Scott Park.
With the loss, the Rockets fall to 20-29 overall and 5-12 in Mid-American Conference play.
The Midnight Blue and Gold tallied just two hits in the game as freshman IF Samantha Showalter and junior OF Jessica Lemieux each went 1-for-3 in the game.
Junior OF Sammy Emery and senior IF Allissa Turkovich also reached base on walks, but Toledo was unable to move a runner past second base.
Kent State scored one run each in the top of the fourth and fifth innings, and Emma Johnson shut down the UT attack, recording her 18th win of the year for the Golden Flashes.
Despite the loss, sophomore P Emily Anderson had a strong game, allowing just one earned run on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts. The loss drops her to 10-15 on the year.
The Rockets conclude their home slate tomorrow for senior day vs. Kent State. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
