
Toledo Places 11th at Desert Mountain Intercollegiate

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Toledo wrapped up play at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate on Saturday by carding a weekend-best score of 15-over par 303 to finish in 11th place. The tourney was played at the Desert Mountain Club – Outlaw Course (Par 72, 7,107 Yards).
Senior Chris Selfridge (74-75-73) paced UT at six-over par 222 and tied for 19th place. Junior Otto Black (79-79-74) finished 10 strokes behind Selfridge at 16-over par 232, followed by freshman Stephen Watts (87-77-77) at 25-over par 241 and freshman Colin Joseph (85-82-84) at 35-over par 251 to stand 59th and 64th, respectively. Rounding out the Rockets' lineup was senior Mike Lancaster, who withdrew in the second round.
Oregon (297-286-278) ran away with the team title and posted a three-round score of 861 (-3) to register a 12-stroke victory over Michigan (297-291-285=873, +9) and Purdue (300-290-283=873, +9).
Individually, the Ducks' Aaron Wise (69-69) captured medalist honors at nine-under par 138, finishing three stokes in front of Michigan's Chris O'Neil (72-72-66) at six-under par 210.
UT will return to the links on Sunday-Monday, March 15-16 when it travels to Naples, FL to take part in the Talis Park Challenge.
