TEMPE, AZ - Toledo (0-6) will travel to "The Grand Canyon State" to take part in the ASU Classic this weekend, Dec. 5-6. The Rockets will battle Ivy League member Columbia (5-1) in the first round on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. (MT) in the Wells Fargo Arena. UT will then take on either host Pac-12 Conference member Arizona State (3-2) or Atlantic-10 Conference participant VCU (5-1) on Sunday at either Noon or 2:30 p.m. (MT). Tomorrow's contest against the Lions will be broadcast on 1370 AM (WSPD) with Jim Heller, beginning at 4:00 p.m. (MT).

Toledo enters tomorrow's match-up on the heels of an 83-57 setback vs. Atlantic-10 Conference power Dayton on Wednesday. The Flyers jumped out to a 21-3 advantage after the first quarter and never looked back against their intra-state foe.

UT was limited to 31.8 percent (21-of-66) from the field, while UD shot 51.6 (32-of-62) percent from the floor.

Freshman Halee Printz led Toledo with a season-high 13 points off the bench, followed by senior Brenae Harris with 10 points and a contest-best six helpers. Junior Janice Monakana added a team-high seven boards and the Rockets outrebound Dayton, 41-34.

Lauren Cannatelli paced Dayton with a game-high 15 points, knocking down five triples, while Saicha Grant-Allen pulled down a game-high 10 caroms.        UT, which is 0-4 away from home, is fueled offensively by the duo of Harris and senior Ana Capotosto, who are averaging 9.5 and 9.3 ppg, respectively.

Toledo will face a Columbia team which has won five of its first six games this season. Most recently, the Lions secured an 82-78 home victory over Saint Francis (PA) on Tuesday. Alexa Giuliano and Devon Roeper led CU with 21 and 19 points against the Red Flash, respectively.

Columbia posted an 8-20 overall mark in 2014-15, including 2-12 in the Ivy League. The Lions have four starters returning for first-year head coach Sheila Roux.

CU utilizes a balanced offense with five players contributing at least 9.0 ppg led by Camille Zimmerman (17.7 ppg, 11.2 rpg, 2.2 bpg) and Tori Oliver (13.7 ppg, 7.7 rpg).

Toledo and Columbia will meet for the first time on the hardwood.

UT is 3-1 (.750) all-time against teams from the Ivy League (1-0 vs. Brown; 1-0 vs. Dartmouth; 0-1 vs. Harvard; 1-0 vs. Yale), including 1-1 under head coach Tricia Cullop. Two weeks ago, the Rockets lost to Harvard, 76-70, in the consolation round of the URI Tip-Off Classic on Nov. 22.

Following this weekend's tourney, Toledo will host Horizon League member Cleveland St. on Saturday, Dec. 12. The opening tip against the Vikings is slated for 2:00 p.m. in Savage Arena.

UT and CSU will meet for the second straight year and 24th time in the overall series. The Rockets lead the all-time series, 14-9, but most recently dropped an 81-71 decision on the road on Nov. 14, 2014. UT has held a decisive edge in the series at home, winning the last nine match-ups against its intra-state rival.
