Rockets Down Dukes in Home Dual Meet, 139-92

TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo women's swimming and diving team notched their first home victory of the season, defeating Duquesne 139-92 on Saturday, Nov. 7 in the UT Student Rec Center. The Rockets recorded victories in nine of the 13 events.

The Midnight Blue & Gold tallied wins in the first three events of the meet. Toledo's relay teams touched first and third in the 400-yard medley relay.

Junior Rachael Hester won the 1,000-yard freestyle for the second time this season with a time of 10:39.27, while senior Mary Dombkowski came in second with a 10:41.21.

Senior Brooke Edwards touched first in the 200-yard freestyle for the fourth-consecutive time this season. She posted a time of 1:53.76, while fellow senior Lauren Comer came in a close second with a time of 1:54.21.

Comer came from behind to notch her first win of the meet in the 200-yard backstroke, posting a time of 2:05.90.

Edwards tallied her second win in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:11.48 and Dombkowski touched second at 5:15.36.

Sophomore Katrin Streicher recorded a victory in the 200-yard butterfly for the second time this season with a time of 2:07.98.

Senior Samantha Richart placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:21.25 and teammate Jessica Avery followed closely in second-place at 2:22.57.

Senior Jamie Schindler earned first in the one-meter dive with a score of 271.73 and sophomore Danielle Forbes recorded a victory in the three-meter dive with a score of 237.23.
The Rockets will compete in the Miami Invitational on Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 3-5 in Oxford, OH. UT will then return home to host Oakland on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 1:00 p.m.
