Rockets Sit in Fourth After First Day of Miami Invite

OXFORD, OH - The Toledo women's swimming and diving team opened up their weekend at the Miami Invitational on Thursday and sit in fourth place with 462 points after day one.

The Rockets finished with nine top 10 finishes in today's events, beginning with a fifth and sixth-place finish in the 200 free relay.

Senior Lauren Comer touched second in the 500 free with a time of 4:50.64, while junior Rachael Hester followed in eighth-place with a 4:58.46.

Sophomore Katrin Streicher recorded a sixth-place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:05.16.

Senior Brooke Edwards recorded a 23.55 in the 50 free, which landed her in fifth-place.

The Rockets closed out the day with a second-place finish in the 400 medley with a time of 3:44.46.

The host RedHawks lead the weekend's invite with 659 points, followed by Emory's 479.5 points.

Day two is scheduled to begin Friday at 11:00 a.m.
