Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Rockets Roll to 100-78 Victory at Youngstown State

YOUNGSTOWN, OH - Toledo cruised to a 100-78 triumph at Youngstown State on Wednesday evening, marking its largest margin of victory in a road game in nearly 12 years. The last time the Rockets won a game in a visiting arena by 22 points or more was a 95-71 win at Siena on Dec. 10, 2003.

Senior center Nathan Boothe and junior guard Jonathan Williams both registered career scoring highs to pace UT's attack. Boothe hit 12-of-16 shots en route to a 26-point performance which saw the 6-10 center grab seven rebounds in 30 minutes. Williams poured in 20 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes.

Freshman forward Nate Navigato contributed 17 points thanks to burying 4-of-7 shots from three-point range and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. Sophomore guard Stuckey Mosley was also in double figures with 14 points and paced the Rockets with eight rebounds and a career-high five assists.

Sophomore guard Cameron Morse led Youngstown State with 23 points and six rebounds.

The Rockets shot 56.3 percent from the field, including 41.7 percent (10-of-24) from behind the three-point arc. UT limited the Penguins to a 39.1 shooting mark, including 33.3 percent (13-of-39) in the second half.

Toledo also held advantage over YSU in rebounding (39-35), turnovers (10-12), blocked shots (4-2) and free-throw shooting (18-23 (.783)/15-21 (.714).

The Rockets led 23-10 less than seven minutes into the contest following four straight treys. The barrage included two bombs from Navigato and one apiece from freshman guard Nick Rogers and Williams. The Penguins rallied to within five points at the midway point of the half but that was as close as the hosts would get.

Toledo didn't let up after holding a 51-38 halftime advantage. Mosley and Navigato each buried treys to open the second stanza and a 7-0 spurt ignited by a Boothe three-point play extended the Rockets' lead to 68-47 with 14:15 to play.

UT's lead didn't fall below 13 points the remainder of the evening.

Toledo continues its five-game road swing at Loyola (IL) on Saturday, Nov. 21. Tip-off time is set for 4:00 p.m. CDT.
