South Bend, IN – Toledo men's tennis competed its weekend at the ITA Midwest Regionals, hosted by the University of Notre Dame.Â
Â
"The good thing about regionals is it can be an eye-opener because after a match or so the intensity and physicality escalates expediently," said head coach Al Wermer. "The bad thing about regionals is your opportunities can vanish in just a moment."
Â
No. 11 seeded junior Stjepan Sisko lost 6-4, 6-4 to Michigan's Carter Lin in the second-round of the main singles draw
Â
In the main doubles draw, the No. 20 seeded pair of Sisko and sophomore Omar Espinosa fell 8-4 to a Wisconsin duo.
Â
Freshmen Vince Anzalone and Luka Vitosevic dropped an 8-1 decision to a pair from Ohio State.
Â
The Midnight Blue & Gold will compete in the Mid-American Conference Indoor tournament at Western Michigan next weekend, Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
