DAYTON, OH - Toledo's men's tennis team dropped the doubles point and couldn't rally all the way back in singles, losing 4-3 at Wright State on Sunday.
Aleksandar Elezovic, Knot Likitkumchorn and Leo Sarria all won their singles matches, but the Rockets fell one point short in the end.
"It's kind of redundant, but we're really in a bind when three of our starters are sick or can't play at all," Al Wermer, head coach, said. "This rendered a horrible doubles outing followed by some singles that, under our conditions, was an excellent team effort. We're improving and I know we'll be fine when the time comes."
Elezovic improved to a perfect 6-0 at No. 2 singles with his 7-6, 6-1 victory. Likitkumchorn won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3, while Sarria took a three-set victory at No. 4.
Elezovic and Likitkumchorn also scored an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles for the Rockets.
Toledo (7-9) is off this week and resumes action at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 20 against Illinois State in Normal, IL.
