TOLEDO, OH - Unbeaten Big East foe Cincinnati (7-0) proved too much for Toledo to match up against on Saturday evening as the Bearcats posted an 81-47 triumph over the Rockets in Savage Arena.
Freshman C Delino Dear topped UT's attack with a season-high 18 points in addition to grabbing a season-best nine boards. Freshman G Reese Holliday was also in double figures with a season-high 13 points.
Junior G Dion Dixon led Cincinnati with 17 points with sophomore G Cashmere Wright the only other Bearcat to score in double figures with 10 points.
The visitors shot 49.2 percent from the field including a sizzling 64.5 percent in the opening stanza. UT was limited to a season-low 30.6 percent from the field and shot just two-of-nine (22.2 percent) from behind the three-point arc.
The Bearcats came out of the gates on fire, knocking down 11 of their first 12 shots (including five three-point field goals) of the game to bolt to a 32-5 lead in the first eight minutes of the contest.
Toledo trailed at halftime by a 53-21 margin and nearly outscored Cincinnati in the second half.
The Rockets (0-8) return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 8 with a 6:00 p.m. road game at IPFW (5-2, 2-0 Summit). The Mastodons posted a 76-66 home win over Southern Utah tonight.
