LEXINGTON, KY - Toledo registered a team score of 308 on Sunday to finish in a sixth-place tie with Miami (Ohio) at this weekend's UK Bluegrass Invitational. The host Wildcats captured the tournament by 10 strokes over second-place Western Carolina.
Freshman Michael Cermak led UT in today's final round with a two-over par 74, while sophomore Jean-Hubert Trahan paced the Rockets in the tournament by tying for 19th place with a nine-over par 225 (75-72-78). Junior Jerel Whiting tied for 23rd place at 11-over par 227 (78-73-76), while sophomores Ben Boyer (76-73-80) and Jonathan Kim (77-72-80) tied for 33rd place at 13-over par 229. Cermak tied for 39th place at 231 (79-78-74).
Austin Peay's Erik Barnes captured medalist honors by firing a five-under par 67 in the final round to finish with a one-under par 215 (72-76-67), three strokes ahead of Ohio's Chad Warmbein who posted a two-over par 218 (75-71-72).
Toledo returns to action next weekend with a trip to West Lafayette, IN for the Boilermaker Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19.
