Akron, OH ? The Toledo women's tennis team shut out the Zips in its last regular-season match on Saturday in Akron.

After sweeping the doubles competition, the Rockets took the momentum into the singles and won all those matches.

Freshman Ashley Frey and sophomore Nadia Zoubareva played a tough doubles match but came up with the 8-6 win. Also with a close match were junior Jenny Belsky and senior Sarah Horning who came up with the 8-5 victory.

Frey also won her singles match 6-1, 6-1 over UA's Carolina Castro Cota, while Zoubareva had the 6-4, 6-2 victory over the Zips Alyssa Carlson.

Sophomore Maha Guirguis shutout Akron's Lindsey Berry 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 3 spot.

Toledo will next head to the University at Buffalo to compete in the Mid-American Conference Tournament that will take place on April 24-27.
