Rockets to Compete in MAC Championship This Weekend

TOLEDO, OH - Toledo travels to Westerville, OH this week to compete in the Mid-American Conference Men's Golf Championship at the par-72, 6,802-yard Medallion Club in Westerville, OH. The 72-hole tournament features nine schools and begins with 36 holes on Thursday, May 3 followed by 18 holes on Friday, May 4 and the final 18 holes on Saturday, May 5. An awards ceremony and cookout will follow Saturday's final round.
The Medallion Club has served as the site of the league championship for many years. The club is a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus II Signature Golf Course with three distinct nine-hole courses and is surrounded by 600 acres of natural, wooded beauty including 80 acres of protected wetlands and a 32-acre Blue Heron Rookery.
Junior Justin Hull leads the Rockets with a 75.4 stroke average with junior Ciaran McAleavey and senior Tyler Riley tied for second on the team at 75.9. Junior Renaud Langevin (77.2) and freshman Lee Keselowski (80.4) also will be competing in the event.
Toledo registered a fifth-place showing in last year's event at Brickyard Crossing in Indianapolis, IN. Senior Richard Kilpatrick led the Rockets in his final collegiate event with a seventh-place tie with a four-over par 292 (74-75-72-71). Tyler Riley finished in a 15th-place tie at 295 (75-74-73-73), while sophomore Justin Hull tied for 21st place with a score of 296 (72-75-73-76).
