Toledo Comes From Behind to Defeat Louisiana Tech, 10-7

RUSTON, LA - Toledo (4-2) pounded out a season-high 13 hits, including five extra-base tallies, and claimed a 10-7 victory at Louisiana Tech (13-9) on Tuesday night at J.C. Love Field.
The Rockets needed every one of those hits, as the Midnight Blue and Gold overcame a three-run deficit. UT trailed 5-2 after three innings but scored runs in four-consecutive frames to take the first contest in the two-game series.
Sophomore Jake Oester (3-for-5, RBI) led the offensive explosion for UT with three hits, while junior Drew Hoisington (2-for-5, 3 RBI, 2 runs scored), senior Joel Visser (2-for-5, run scored) and freshman Aaron Dudley (2-for-3, 3 RBI, 2 runs scored) each finished with two hits apiece.
Sophomore Jeff Cinadr (1-0), the second of four hurlers utilized by the Rockets, was credited with his first victory of the season. Cinadr allowed one run on one hit with a strikeout in 2.1 innings of relief duty.
Toledo opened the scoring in the second inning on a two-run by Dudley.
Louisiana Tech quickly countered with a run in the bottom in the second and four more runs in the third to chase UT sophomore starter Ryan France. The Hudson, OH native was tagged for six runs (five earned) on seven hits and a strikeout in 4.2 innings of work.
Facing the three-run deficit, UT chipped with a tally in the fifth on a RBI by junior Scott Boley, followed by a four-run sixth to knot the game at 6-6. The big hit in the frame for Toledo was a three-run home run to left field by Hoisington.
The Rockets continued to pour it on offensively two runs in the seventh on RBI single by Oester and a sacrifice fly by Dudley gave them a lead they would not relinquish.
UT tacked on an unearned insurance run in the eighth to end the scoring and make the final, 10-7.
