Charlie Scholvin Named MAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week

Scholvin hit .545 and had a .708 on-base percentage in 4-0 week for Toledo
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo junior shortstop Charlie Scholvin has been tabbed as the MAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced.

Scholvin earned the honor after leading the Rockets to a 4-0 week against Oakland and Ball State. Last week, Scholvin hit .545 with a .708 on-base percentage and an 1.182 slugging percentage. He had seven RBIs, eight runs scored and was hit by five pitches while not striking out.

All told, the Lewis Center, Ohio native had a hit, RBI, run scored and hit by pitch in each of Toledo's four victories last week. He hit both of his home runs against Ball State, helping the Rockets sweep the Cardinals for the first time since 2012.

The conference selects one male and one female student-athlete each week who has at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a worthy performance in that week's athletic competition. Scholvin has a 3.86 GPA and is majoring in management.

This is the first scholar-athlete of the week honor of Scholvin's career. He earned CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-MAC nods as a sophomore in 2025.

Scholvin and the Rockets (25-24, 18-9 MAC) have won seven-straight games and are in fourth place in the MAC standings heading into this weekend's series at Ohio.
