Men's Tennis Defeats Boston College 5-2

Ft. Myers, FL - Toledo men's tennis defeated Boston College 5-2 this evening, Mar. 6, as part of their three-match spring break trip in Ft. Myers, Florida. The Rockets have improved their record to 7-7.
"Finally getting outside is like the difference between swimming in the ocean verses swimming in a pool," said Head Coach Al Wermer. "It can be choppy and sloppy but you have to do your best to stay a float. The guys did that today and they did a good job."
In doubles Toledo started out with a loss by the senior duo of Travis Curran and Brian Rager who lost 8-2. However the Rockets captured the doubles point with a win by Mohammed Al Nabhani and Chris Clark at No. 2 doubles, 8-5 and Keith Moran and Jared Miller at No. 3, 8-2.
In singles, Al Nabhani had a tough match at No. 1 losing the first set 4-6 and then coming back to win the second and third set 6-2, 6-2. The Rockets then went on to capture two more points with wins at No. 2 by Miller, 6-3, 6-2 and at No. 3 by Clark 6-1,6-1. Senior Josh Moran took a loss at No. 4 as did Curran at No. 5. Freshman Tyler Sonkin won at No. 6 shutting out his opponent 6-0, 6-0.
Toledo plays again tomorrow, Mar. 7 against Duquesne University at 12:30 PM.
