Final Stats
Ft. Myers, FL - Toledo men's tennis defeated Duquesne this afternoon, Mar. 7 in their second game in Ft. Myers, Florida. The Rockets have continued to improve their record to 8-7.
Toledo swept the doubles completion with wins by Travis Curran and Brian Rager at No. 1, Mohammed Al Nabhani and Chris Clark at No. 2 and Jared Miller and Keith Moran at No. 3.
Continuing the momentum from his doubles victory, Al Nabhani destroyed his opponent at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0. Miller suffered is first lost in three matches at No. 2 singles losing two very close sets, 6-7 (3), 6-7 (5). Clark won at No. 3 6-1, 6-3. Losing another close match was senior Josh Moran at No. 4. Moran lost 1-6. 6-3, 5-10. Winning the last two matches for the Rockets were Curran at No. 5 6-4, 6-2 and Keith Moran at No. 6 6-3, 6-1.
"The team has shown lost of improvement now that we are outdoors," said head coach Al Wermer. "Our guys have gained some serious confidence."
Tomorrow the men will play Florida Gulf Coast in their final spring break match.
