Final Stats
Toledo, OH - The University of Toledo women's tennis team defeated Ohio Northern yesterday, March 16th 7-0. The Rockets are now 8-2.
The Rockets started out in doubles only allowing five points to capture the doubles point. Then in singles, Toledo didn't give up a point in the first nine sets. The first Polar Bear point was scored in the second set of the No. 5 match.
Earlier in the day, Sophomore Jenny Belsky was named MAC Player of the Week according to the Mid-American Conference office. Belsky is Toledo's first Player of the Week this season.
Belsky was nominated on her performance this past week when the Rockets traveled to Florida to compete against Temple and Florida Gulf Coast. Belsky was undefeated at No. 5 singles on spring break. She won two close matches defeating her Temple opponent 7-5, 6-2 winning only one of two victories for the Rockets against Temple and defeated her Florida Gulf Coast opponent 6-3, 7-6(4).
The Rockets will play again Sunday, March 19 when they travel to State College, PA to take on the Nittany Lions of Penn State. PSU is the first Big 10 opponent this season for the Rockets. First serve is set for 10 AM.
