TOLEDO, OH - Toledo continued its string of offensive explosions tonight with a 52-28 victory over Eastern Michigan at the Glass Bowl. The Rockets evened their overall record at 5-5 (3-3 MAC) with the win and are now averaging 55.0 points per game over their last three contests. The Eagles dropped to 3-7 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
Senior running back Jalen Parmele led the Rockets with a game-high 168 yards rushing and three touchdowns, while sophomore QB Aaron Opelt threw for 276 yards on 17-of -29 attempts. Toledo amassed 324 yards on the ground and 276 in the air. Junior Nick Moore (10 catches, 119 yards) and sophomore Stephen Williams (6 catches, 150 yards) combined for all but one of the Rockets' 17 receptions.
Parmele sparked UT to a quick 14-0 lead with 31- and 29-yard touchdown runs. After an EMU score, Williams took over with 20-yard and 64-yard TD receptions to give the Rockets a 28-7 advantage at the half.
EMU came within two touchdowns of Toledo on three different occasions in the second half, but the Rockets were able to answer with a score of their own each time.
Senior Pierre Walker led the Eagles' ground attack with 93 yards, while sophomore Andy Schmitt completed 10-of-17 passes for 111 yards.
The Rockets will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 13 with a trip to Muncie, IN to face Ball State. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
