Toledo, OH - The University of Toledo women's tennis team defeated Wright State in their first match of the season 7-0.
The Rockets won both the number two and number three doubles with the teams of Myriam Cueva and Nadia Zoubareva at number two and Jenny Belski and Sarah Hornning at number three.Toledo then swept the singles matches from top to bottom.
"As a team, we played very well," said Head Coach Tracy Mauntler. "This was a good start for us. The girls are focused on the challenges that lie ahead as we move throughout the season."
Freshman newcomer Nadia Zoubareva won both her singles and doubles matches in her first event as a Rocket. Zoubareva defeated Monica Cappozziello 6-1, 6-0 at the number five singles and defeated Christa Ames and Karnia Presti with Cueva at number two singles.
The Rockets will take on Youngstown State Saturday January 27 at 1:30 PM and Cleveland State Sunday January 28 at 11 AM at the Laurel Hill Tennis Club.
