TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Bruce Gradkowski ran for a touchdown and passed for
another to lead Toledo to a 31-13 win over Ohio on Saturday.
Nigel Morris got the Rockets (5-2, 4-0 Mid-American Conference) on the board
early when he picked up a fumble and rumbled 26 yards for a touchdown less than
5 minutes into the game.
Ryan Hawk came off the bench to throw a 4-yard scoring pass to Corey Logan
for the only touchdown by Ohio (3-4, 1-3).
Gradkowski completed 26 of 37 passes for 285 yards and an 11-yard TD pass to
Lance Moore. Gradkowski also ran 11 times for 30 yards, scoring on a 1-yard
plunge early in the second half.
Quinton Broussard ran 16 times for 80 yards for the Rockets, including an
8-yard scoring run late in the third quarter to push Toledo to a 31-5 lead.
Ohio scored on two safeties - both when Gradkowski was sacked in the end
zone - and Jason Robbins' 22-yard field goal before Hawk hit Logan early in the
fourth quarter. Hawk completed 7 of 14 passes for 77 yards in relief of starter
Austen Everson, who hit on 7 of 17 passes for 55 yards with one interception.
Toledo's defense held the Bobcats to 98 yards on 37 rushing attempts.
