Toledo Downs Cleveland State, 6-1, at Laurel Hill Tennis Club

Toledo, OH - The University of Toledo women's tennis team defeated Cleveland State, 6-1, this afternoon at Laurel Hill Tennis Club. With the victory the Rockets improve to 6-8 on the season.
The Rocket women started the day off sweeping the Vikings in doubles action to earn the doubles point.
In singles action, sophomore Viviana Rivero defeated CSU's Audrey Shade (6-2, 6-0) at the No. 1 singles spot, while freshman Eunice Paravicini downed Paulina Reyes (6-1, 6-0) in No. 2 singles action. Freshman Daniella Moran defeated Katie Shews in No. 4 singles action (6-1, 6-2), while junior Jen Meister claimed victory over Amanda Cerny (6-0, 6-2) at the No. 5 singles spot. Rounding out UT's participants was freshman Betsy Hoffman, who upended Mandy Sweeney at the No. 6 singles spot (4-6, 6-1, 6-0).
"I'm very pleased with the effort we showed today," Toledo Head Women's Tennis Coach Laura Segrera said. "The girls did what was necessary to get the job done."
The Rockets will resume action on Saturday, March 29 as they host Eastern Michigan at 1:00 p.m.
