Women's Tennis: Toledo Heads to Illinois For Pair of Weekend Matches

Toledo, OH - The Toledo women's tennis team travels to Illinois this Friday-Saturday, Feb. 23-24 to battle the Redbirds of Illinois State and Westerwinds of Western Illinois. The Rockets play ISU at the Evergreen Racquet Club in Normal, IL on Friday and WIU in Macomb, IL on Saturday.
Toledo enters this weekend with a 3-2 record, coming off of two straight home wins versus Robert Morris, 5-2, and Dayton, 6-1. Illinois State possesses a 4-4 mark and Western Illinois is 5-1 on the year.
The Rockets home wins were aided by the play of sophomores, Marie Craig (Akron, OH) and Marivi Cuartin (Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela), who teamed up to win No. 1 doubles against Dayton and No. 2 doubles over Robert Morris. Both Craig and Cuartin won their respective singles matches in each contest.
Friday's match in Normal, IL is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start. Toledo turns around to play at Macomb, IL on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
