Junior Joad Martinho is Toledo's Male Athlete of the Week after pacing Toledo at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational in Chicago last Friday. Martinho placed fifth overall in the men's 8k championship race and crossed the finish line with a final time of 23:26.58.
The junior helped the Rockets to a seventh-place finish in the highly competitive national meet against three teams ranked in the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll. Toledo placed just behind No. 16 North Carolina and was ahead of No. 24 Washington, Boston College, N.C. State, Florida State and Indiana for one of the best finishes in the Loyola Lakefront Invitational for the Rockets.
