Junior Leah Evans is Toledo's Female Athlete of the Week after earning seven top-two finishes at the Eastern Classic this last weekend. Evans' performance helped lead the Rockets to victories over Illinois State and Eastern Michigan. The win over EMU marked the first win for the Rockets over the Eagles since 2013.
Evans placed first in the 400 medley relay (3:46.27), 200 IM (2:05.99), 200 free relay (1:34.06), 100 back (55.11) and 200 back (2:00.04). In the 200 back, she recorded the seventh-best time in program history with a final mark of 2:00.04. Evans took second in the 100 butterfly (55.11) and 200 medley relay (1:43.56).
