Junior Bence Bertenyi tied for ninth place to pace Rockets

WESTCHESTER, Ill – Junior Bence Bertenyi is tied for eighth place at 1 under par to lead the Toledo men's golf team following Monday's first two rounds of the Chicago Highlands Invitational. The Rockets are tied for fourth place in the team standings at 8 over with the College of Charleston, Indiana, and Maryland yet to complete their round.

Toledo was in second place following the opening round after shooting a 6-under-par 282. Junior Zane Aiken and sophomore Harry McArdle led UT this morning with 3-under-par 69s. Aiken registered eagles on the par-5, 531-yard 5^th hole and par-5, 576-yard 12^th hole, while McArdle collected six birdies in his round.

Bertenyi paced the Rockets this afternoon with an even-par 72. After back-to-back bogeys on the sixth and seventh holes put him at 1 over par, he closed out his round with 10 pars and a birdie.

East Tennessee State is leading the 12-team field at 15 under par, with the Buccaneers Erik Tjarnberg leading all individuals at 7 under.

The tournament's third and final round will begin tomorrow morning.
