Zane Aiken, Harry McArdle, and Brooks Pawlak each fire three-under 67s in Rocket debuts
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Toledo men's golf team shot nine-under par 271 in Monday's second round and is tied for seventh place after 36 holes at Tennessee's Visit Knoxville Collegiate. The Rockets' second-round score matched Memphis for the best round of the day in a field that includes eight programs ranked in the Top 50 of last year's Scoreboard Clippd computer rankings.
Senior Brooks Pawlak along with sophomores Zane Aiken and Harry McArdle each fired three-under par 67s in their Rocket debuts to lead the way. Aiken paced UT in the morning, while McArdle and Pawlak set the pace this afternoon.
McArdle registered a team-high eight birdies on the day, including five on his way to his three-under 67. Pawlak tallied five birdies in his second round as well.
Junior Bence Bertenyi also carded an under-par round for Toledo with a two-under 68 in Round Two.
Aiken is tied for seventh place at four-under par to lead the Rockets in the individual standings.
Toledo is just seven strokes behind tournament co-leaders Chattanooga and Memphis. The Moccasins' Evan Rogers and Tigers' Yixiang Wang are tied for first individually at six-under par.
Toledo's tee times in the tomorrow's final round will begin off the No. 1 tee at 8:20 a.m.
