Toledo opens its season under 10th-year head coach Jeff Roope at Tennessee's Visit Knoxville Collegiate and is competing against one of the strongest fields it will face this season. The 17-team field includes eight schools – No. 9 North Carolina, No. 10 Vanderbilt, No. 18 Tennessee, No. 20 Charlotte, No. 27 Georgia, No. 34 Louisville, No. 37 Mississippi State and No. 41 South Carolina – that were ranked in the Top 50 of last year's Scoreboard Clipped final rankings. Junior Bence Bertenyi is the Rockets' leading returner.

The Rockets will welcome Purdue Fort Wayne to Savage Arena on Tuesday, Sept. 1 before hosting Notre Dame on Saturday, Sept. 5. Fans are encouraged to wear white for a White Out against the Fighting Irish. Toledo opened up the 2026 season by going 3-0 at the Rocket Invitational. Fifth-year senior Sophie Catalano led the offense, totaling 29 kills on a .379 clip, while Grace Freiberger is averaging 4.22 digs/set.

Women's Soccer looks to continue its winning ways this week in a pair of matches. The Rockets head to Duquesne on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 1 p.m. Streaming will be on ESPN+. Toledo then returns home on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m., taking on Georgia Southern. Sunday's match at Paul Hotmer Field will be Kids Day/Camper Reunion and Toledo Soccer kids t-shirts will be given away, while supplies last. Toledo (3-1) defeated Oakland, 1-0, on the road on Thursday, marking a three-match winning streak. McKenna Schultz netted the winner in the 37th minute.

Toledo looks to return to the MAC Championship Game for the third time in five years this season. Jacobs, a 24-year coaching veteran hired to lead the Rockets in December, has a 94-23 record as head coach and comes from Mercer, where he led the Bears to two FCS postseason appearances.
