TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo infielder Charlie Scholvin was selected in the MLB Draft by the Minnesota Twins in the 15th round on Sunday.

Coming off a stellar junior season in 2026, Scholvin was the sixth pick to play under Head Coach Rob Reinstetle. Scholvin joins infielder Chris Meyers (Detroit, 2021), pitcher Kyle Jones (Minnesota, 2022), pitcher Connor Brandon (New York Mets, 2022), infielder Jeron Williams (Houston, 2023) and pitcher RJ Shunck (Miami, 2025) as Rocket draftees under Reinstetle. He was pick No. 437 overall in the draft.

Scholvin was a First Team All-MAC selection in 2026, with a .360/.488/.522 slash line, 82 hits, 18 doubles, five home runs, 50 RBIs and 68 runs scored. He was walked or hit by a pitch 60 times to just 21 strikeouts and stole 25 bases. The 68 runs scored were third-most in a season in program history. Scholvin had 29 multi-hit games, 13 multi-RBI games and had the team's longest hitting streak in 2026, at 16.

Among the MAC rankings in 2026, Scholvin led the league and was tied for fourth in the nation with 31 hit by pitches. Scholvin was also second in runs scored, fourth in stolen bases and hits, fifth in doubles and sixth in on-base percentage (.488). He was also tied for first in the country in 2025 with 34 hit by pitches.

For his Rocket career, Scholvin played in 148 games with a .319 average and .465 on-base percentage. He tallied 161 hits, 137 runs scored, 98 RBIs, 33 doubles and 12 home runs, adding 60 walks and 82 hit by pitches. After taking over as the Rockets' everyday shortstop as a freshman, Scholvin totaled a .967 fielding percentage at the position.

In addition to his First Team All-MAC selection, Scholvin is a two-time CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-MAC honoree, and received a MAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week honor in 2026.

Scholvin was a team captain in back-to-back 30-win seasons in 2025 and 2026, where the Rockets reached the MAC Tournament championship game in both years. Toledo won nine MAC Tournament games in three appearances with Scholvin in the lineup and in the field.
