Nathan Leininger, Charlie Scholvin and Troy Sudbrook add to award-winning seasons with academic honor
TOLEDO, Ohio – University of Toledo baseball student-athletes Nathan Leininger, Charlie Scholvin and Troy Sudbrook were named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, the College Sports Communicators announced on Tuesday.

Scholvin and Sudbrook were selected to the Academic All-District Team for the second year in a row, while Leininger was a first-time pick. All three were Academic All-MAC selections last season.

All three were selected to advance to the Academic All-America ballot. The ballot will be voted on by members of College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) and Academic All-Americans will be announced on June 23.

To qualify, student-athletes must play in 90 percent or start in 66 percent of games, build at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and be at a sophomore or higher academic standing.

Toledo earned its highest GPA in program history in the fall semester with a 3.56 team GPA. The program nearly matched that record in the spring with a 3.55 team mark.

All three Academic All-District selections also received postseason athletic honors from the Mid-American Conference. Leininger was the league's Pitcher of the Year and a First Team All-MAC pick, while Scholvin and Sudbrook also took first-team nods. Sudbrook added a MAC All-Defensive Team selection.
