Senior Mads Jensen receives honor for third straight year
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo men's golfers Bence Bertenyi, Mason Deal, Mads Jensen and Bence Kotel were named 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced today. It marks the fifth straight year the Rockets have had four or more honorees, with Jensen being honored for a third straight year.
All four Rockets possess a 3.6 grade-point average or higher, with Deal leading the way with a 3.903 GPA in finance. He is followed by Bertenyi's 3.847 mark in business, Jensen's 3.793 figure in marketing, and Kotel's 3.664 GPA in mechanical engineering.
To be eligible for the GCAA All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
