Patricia Anumgba, Kendall Carruthers earn Third-Team All-MAC while Faith Fedd-Robinson takes honorable mention
TOLEDO, Ohio – Graduate student Patricia Anumgba and junior Kendall Carruthers each earned Third Team All-MAC honors, and sophomore Faith Fedd-Robinson garnered an Honorable Mention All-MAC pick among the league's postseason honors that were announced on Tuesday.
Both Carruthers and Fedd-Robinson earned recognition from the league for the second-straight season. Anumgba also earned her second all-conference distinction, having earned Second Team All-CAA in 2023-24 with Towson.
In her only season as a Rocket, Anumgba started all 29 games, averaging 12.0 points. 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. She shot 34.1% from three-point range and 78.2% from the free throw line. She also led the team with 51 steals for the season. Anumgba scored at least 20 points seven times in Toledo's last 15 games, including a season high 25 against Southern Miss (Feb. 7). In a win against UMass, Anumgba starred for 22 points, 7-of-11 from the field, 4-of-7 from three and a career-high seven steals. The Silver Spring, Md. native is 10th in the league in steals (51), 14th in three-point field goal percentage (34.1), 16th in three-pointers/game (1.6) and 22nd in scoring (12.0).
Carruthers built upon her honorable mention selection last season, averaging 12.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists. The Toledo native has shot 41.8% from the field and 76.0% from the free throw line, and added 33 steals defensively. Carruthers has 18 double-digit scoring outings in her 28 games this season and has reached 20 points three times. She set a season high with 27 points on 10-of-13 shooting against Morgan State on Dec. 2. In last week's win at Western Michigan, Carruthers exploded for 25 points, with 20 in the second half on a career free throw performance, shooting 12-for-13. Carruthers is 14th in the league in assist average (2.8) and free throw percentage (76.0%), and 21st in scoring (12.2).
After an all-freshman team selection a year ago, Fedd-Robinson put together a stellar season, especially in MAC play, before an injury ended her season. In 24 games, Fedd-Robinson averaged 11.7 points, a team-leading 7.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists. She shot 48.5% from the field and 74.0% from the free throw line. Defensively, Fedd Robinson totaled 29 steals and 16 blocks. She totaled three double-doubles, marking her first career double-double (13 pts/10 reb) in a win at Youngstown State (Nov. 25). In a five-game stretch from Jan. 31-Feb. 14, Fedd-Robinson averaged 12.6 points and 13.0 rebounds, reaching 15 rebounds three times and tallying two more double-doubles. The New Jersey native finished the regular season ranked ninth in the league in average rebounds (7.0), 12th in field goal percentage (48.5%) and 18th in free throw percentage (74.0%).
Carruthers and Anumgba each hit 1,000 career point milestones on Jan. 20 and Feb. 18, respectively.
Toledo (15-14, 9-9 MAC) enters the postseason as the No. 6 seed in this week's Mid-American Conference Tournament. The Rockets begin the tournament on Wednesday against No. 3 UMass, beginning in the quarterfinals matchup at approximately 6:15 p.m.
