Three Rockets tally multi-hit games on Sunday
Â
The Rockets could not overcome nine-straight runs from the Bisons from the first through the fourth innings, including five tallies in the fourth. Toledo rallied to within two, scoring once in the fifth and twice in the seventh and eighth innings. The Rockets brought the tying run to the plate in the eighth and ninth innings, but could not get any closer.
Â
The Rockets got multi-hit games from Jacob Payne, Charlie Scholvin and Luke Walton, with Walton recording a double and a triple. John Hojnowski pitched 4.1 scoreless innings in relief to keep Toledo in the game. Starter Ryan Hughes took the loss.
Â
The Rockets will have another chance to claim the series tomorrow, March 2, in the series finale. First pitch is at 2:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. CT.

Quoting Head Coach Rob Reinstetle
"Another close game that was very winnable. We had plenty of chances but couldn't score some easy runs, and the fourth inning spiraled out of control on us. We gave up five runs when it should have only been two. We've got to learn how to put games away when we have them on the ropes offensively. We've played well to this point and have a chance to win the series tomorrow."
