Junior earns honor after posting a three-set win on the No. 1 singles court over Fordham
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo junior Poonthong Komolpisut was named the Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Komolpisut helped the Toledo men's tennis team to a 5-2 victory over Fordham on Feb. 22 as he posted a three-set win on the No. 1 singles court. The junior tallied a 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 decision over Fordham's Mateusz Gradzki to help UT win its second consecutive match.
Komolpisut moves to an overall record of 5-2 in singles contests throughout the dual season.
The Rockets return to the court on Thursday, Feb. 26 in Chattanooga, Tenn. against Chattanooga. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
