Surtz owns best mile time in the conference
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo women's track and field junior Lianna Surtz was named the Mid-American Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Surtz competed at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. this weekend, tallying a final time of 4:45.92 in the mile run to place sixth overall. It was the best mile time in the MAC this season and ranks 85th among all Division I runners.
The Rockets return to action at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind. on Friday-Saturday, Jan. 30-31.
